One destination in the book caught my attention, and i would love to go there. One day, I promise myself that i will go there and enjoy the sights. It is : "Driving Along Route 66, United States Of America".
Lets talk about Route 66. Dubbed "American's Main Street", it is most problably the world's most famous road. Although old, the spirit of Route 66 is still alive and kicking, it lets you get the true taste of driving and experience what it feels like to say, "
It not the destination, its the journey that counts". I could not believe that Route 66 is actually 3600km long across 8 states. Having been given its official name in 1926, and been completey paved in 1937, it has always been a favourite holiday drive for people all around the world. It even has its own song, wrote in 1946 by songwriter Bobby Troup, the legendary "Get your kicks at Route 66". A town named "Seligman" is Route 66 iconic, consisting of one overly-wide main street and a host of classic dinners, motels and general stores. It is home to Angel Delgaillo, the town's currently-retired barber. Angel revived his mother on Route 66 and founded an association to preserve the road as Historic Route 66. Driving out of Seligman, the old dusty highway begins climbing into the Black Mountains towards Oatman, another village. The narrow road twists and turnscurves and snakes its way upwards. There are several spots on the route which allow you to park and admire the view. After going through chapter, i am thrilled and want to feel how it is in the "Wild Wild West".
